Angel vs Devil Concept

I did this as a try-out page for a writer looking for a comic book artist. Now most of the time I don't do try-out pages for anybody because, as you know kids, you can get ripped off. (Little Known fact: as awesome comics are, they are A LOT OF SCUMBAGS.) But I dug the description the writer gave, and the layout was cool so I got on it.

I didn't get ripped off or anything, but I sent to the writer and i kind a got a "Meh" feeling from him. I thought "hey this isn't bad for an hours UNPAID work you know" but maybe I'm wrong and this sux arse hole, what do you guy think?

This took me an hour, maybe two because I had to research for a bit, the whole style was to be inspired by Marvels Ultimates, and have a realistic look to it. I did this pretty much like dirty pencils thought with a bit of ink and watercolor, using references by and , doing pencils, then light boxing it, ink a bit, then light boxing another layer to finally this.

I'm happy with it, even though it's rough, but I've been thinking of doing a photo based comic for a while now, using references. Since this took me no time and not using my own references I think it would be cool to see where one could take this with time and better managed references. (Though and are the bomb)
